Wall-mounted air conditioning unit in a clean interior

AC Interior Service · ¥16,500 per unit

The air your unit puts out should not carry what has accumulated inside it.

Internal cleaning of wall-mounted units — filter, heat exchanger, drainage pan, and fan drum — handled carefully before summer, or when something in the air has made you wonder.

What this service addresses

A unit that runs cleanly and quietly, without that question in the background.

Most households in Hiroshima rely on wall-mounted air conditioning units through the summer. What few people notice until it is pointed out is how much the interior of a unit accumulates over that period — and through the preceding months of cooler, humid air being drawn through it.

This service addresses that accumulation directly. After the work is done, the unit runs on cleaner internal components, and the air it distributes through the room reflects that. It is a practical thing — not a luxury — and the difference is usually noticeable within the first few hours of use.

Air that does not carry an odour on start-up

The musty quality that sometimes appears when a unit is turned on after a period of disuse comes from what has grown inside it. Cleaning removes the source.

A unit that works as it should

Blockages on the heat exchanger and in the drainage pan reduce efficiency. A clean unit reaches temperature more readily and holds it without straining.

Peace of mind through the season

Knowing the unit has been properly serviced means you can use it through summer without the nagging awareness that it might not be in good condition.

Guidance on what you can manage between services

After the service, we explain what filter maintenance you can carry out yourself to extend the benefit across the coming months.

Why this matters here in particular

Hiroshima's humidity does something particular to a unit left uncleaned.

The seasonal accumulation

Through spring and into summer, air conditioning units draw warm, humid indoor air across cooler surfaces. Moisture condenses on the heat exchanger. Over time, and in a climate like Hiroshima's, this creates conditions where growth takes hold.

The filter is only part of it

Rinsing the visible filter is something any household can do, and it is worth doing. But the fan drum, drainage pan, and heat exchanger are not reachable without dismantling the unit — and that is where most of the accumulation occurs.

When you notice it

The signs — a faint odour on start-up, a unit that seems to work harder than it used to, something in the air that was not there before — usually appear well after the issue has been developing. By that point, a thorough internal clean is needed, not just a filter rinse.

What the service covers

Approximately ninety minutes per unit, done carefully.

The unit is opened and its internal components are accessed individually. Protective sheeting is laid across the wall and floor beneath the unit before work begins — nothing is left to chance with the surfaces nearby.

Each component is cleaned in turn: the filter, the heat exchanger, the drainage pan, and the fan drum. Rinse water is collected and removed from the property afterwards. Nothing is left to drain into the wall or floor.

Once the unit is reassembled, a function check is carried out before we leave. We also explain what the household can do with the filter between services — it is a simple task that extends the benefit considerably.

On the day of the service

Ninety minutes of careful work, and the unit is ready for the season.

On arrival

Preparing the space

Protective sheeting is laid across the wall and floor beneath the unit. Furniture nearby is moved or covered if needed. The surrounding area is ready before a single component is touched.

During the service

Component by component

The unit is opened. Filter, heat exchanger, fan drum, and drainage pan are each cleaned in turn. Rinse water is managed carefully and collected — it does not reach your walls or floor.

After cleaning

Reassembly and check

The unit is reassembled and a function check is run before the team leaves. If anything unexpected was found during the work, it is noted and explained without technical jargon.

Before leaving

What you can do next

We explain how to maintain the filter between services — it is a short routine that extends the cleanliness of the unit and is genuinely within anyone's ability to manage.

Pricing

Per unit, with nothing added on the day.

The cost is ¥16,500 per unit. If your home has more than one wall-mounted unit, each is priced at the same rate. There is no volume discount or surcharge for additional units — just the same price applied consistently.

The service takes approximately ninety minutes per unit. If multiple units are being serviced in the same attendance, we can often work more efficiently, and the total time is less than a strict multiple would suggest.

Prices do not include consumption tax unless stated. Ask when enquiring for the current rate-inclusive figure.

What this looks like in practice

Appropriate before summer, or when something has made you wonder.

Before summer

The practical time to have this done is before you start using the unit heavily — typically late spring, before the humidity and heat of June and July make air conditioning essential. Scheduling it in April or May means the season begins cleanly.

When an odour appears

If you notice a stale or musty quality in the air when the unit starts up — particularly after a period of disuse — that is a reasonable signal. The odour typically comes from what has settled inside the unit over time, not from the air itself.

If the unit seems less effective

A heat exchanger that has accumulated dust and residue works harder to move heat. If the unit is running longer to reach the set temperature, or cycling more frequently, the interior may benefit from cleaning.

How often

There is no universal answer to how frequently a unit should be cleaned internally. In Hiroshima, where summers are long and humid and units work hard across the warmer months, once a year — before summer — tends to be a reasonable interval for most households. Some households with units in heavier use may prefer twice yearly.

Between services

The filter is the one component you can manage yourself, and doing so regularly makes a genuine difference. We explain exactly how at the end of the service. It is a ten-minute task that extends the benefit of the internal clean considerably.

Our commitment to you

The work is carried out with care. The space is left as it was found.

Every AC interior service follows the same preparation and process. Protective sheeting is laid before any component is touched. Rinse water is removed — not left to drain into surfaces. The function check is done before the team leaves.

If something unexpected is found during the service — a component that needs attention beyond cleaning, a drainage issue — it is explained clearly before the visit ends, without an attempt to add to the scope without your agreement.

There is no obligation from an initial enquiry. If you would like to understand more about what the service involves before deciding, a short conversation is welcome.

No surprises on the day

The price is per unit, as stated. Nothing is added on the day without a clear conversation first.

The space is restored

Protective sheeting is removed and the area around the unit is left in the same condition it was in before work began.

Function confirmed before leaving

The unit is run and checked after reassembly. You do not need to take it on trust that the work was done.

Identified staff

Each team member carries identification. You know who is in your home throughout the service.
